A full refurbishment taking in every level of the house: a new bathroom formed in the existing basement, a kitchen extension to the rear and a new loft conversion, with bespoke joinery running throughout.

Structural works
The house was extended at kitchen level and converted at roof level, with structural alterations through the retained building. Below ground, the existing basement was refurbished and a new bathroom formed within it.
Building services
Air conditioning was installed alongside the refurbished heating and electrical systems, with routes coordinated through the retained structure before ceilings were closed.
Materials and finishes
Bespoke joinery is the through-line of the project: a full-height timber screen to the open-plan living space, an integrated media wall, and fitted wardrobes and storage to the bedrooms.
Challenges & delivery
Working top to bottom
Projects that touch the roof, the ground floor and the basement in one contract need the vertical sequence planned as carefully as the horizontal one. The new basement bathroom was completed and made good before the roof was opened, so the house was never exposed at both ends at once.
